The minister delegate to Minepat chaired yesterday the first session of the monitoring and evaluation committee of this reference framework for government actions for the next decade.

The first session of the monitoring and evaluation committee for the implementation of the national development strategy 2020-2030 (NDS-30) was held yesterday in Yaoundé under the chairmanship of Paul Tasong, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (Minepat).

The NDS-30 is this compass that will guide the development actions of the government and its partners over the next decade. It can be summed up in four main interventions: structural transformation of the economy; development of human capital and well-being; promotion of employment and economic inclusion; and finally governance, decentralization and strategic management of the state. “Achieving the objectives of this strategy will require the use of all levers for its success. No one resource will be too much, and the combined efforts of all actors are necessary and essential, ”said Paul Tasong at the outset. The said committee is made up of the secretaries-general of ministerial departments, representatives of the private sector, civil society and decentralized territorial communities, etc. It should ensure proper ownership and operationalization of the strategy by the various actors. But also to a reinforced and effective coordination of the interventions of the various actors and adequate financing of the strategy, will add the Mindel-Minepat.

The meeting of yesterday will have thus made it possible to evaluate the state of implementation of SND-30, to present the communication plan aimed at widely popularizing this strategy but also to set up sectoral sub-committees. “It was a question of sharing with the members of the committee the missions which are theirs. They are contained in a decree signed by the Prime Minister entrusting this committee with responsibility for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of SND-30, especially at the technical level. It must be said that this committee is accompanied by the seven sectoral sub-committees which prepare the work of the national committee. The strategy contains a number of key considerations. They had to be mentioned once more “, affirmed Paul Tasong.

Civil society was validly represented on this committee by Viviane Ondoua Biwolé, the positive point to be noted at this stage is that” the device of monitoring and evaluation has changed relatively. The implementation of the Dsce (tool preceding the SND-30) had a device headed by the secretary-general of Minepat, this time it is chaired by the Prime Minister, head of the government in the long term and the one that concerns us by the Minister in charge of the Economy. So we realize that there is certainly an additional strategic level to correct the previous device. “
